Facilities of Merit Award

There is a direct relationship between the recreational opportunities in a given community and the facilities that enable those opportunities.  MRPA is proud of the work our members achieve in enhancing existing facilities or in bringing new buildings and parks to their communities.  This award is established to recognize outstanding facilities and the people who bring them to life.

Past recipients have shared these qualities:

• A significant recreation facility established within the last two years
• Shows the project overview, design, plan, and priority of need

• Demonstrates an increase in recreational opportunities – including types of uses

• Local commitment to the project

• Accessibility to users

• Demonstrates innovation and creativity
