Welcome to Hot Shot Hysteria!

This page is designed to provide information about the MRPA Red Claws Hot Shot Competition for both Hot Shot coordinators and individual participants. We appreciate your involvement and support.

MRPA has teamed up with Maine’s newest professional sports team the Maine Red Claws in offering this years Hot Shot Competition. We appreciate your interest in the Hot Shot Competition which offers the opportunity for young boys and girls to participate and benefit from exhibiting their best in the game of basketball.

From Fort Kent to Kittery this program has given Maine’s youth a chance to compete against the best across the state while learning valuable lifelong lessons.

Many past participants and local coordinators carry fond memories with them from their experiences in the annual Hot Shot Competition. Loretta Martin from Auburn Parks and Recreation had this to say about hosting a Regional Hot Shot Competition; “I enjoyed hosting these events for the last few years!  Its actually not hard, and a lot of fun!” Both the MRPA and the Red Claws are very excited about this new partnership which we hope will bring new incentives and rewards to each participant.

I would encourage you to join in on the fun and become a member of this year MRPA/Red Claws Hot Shot Competition. If you have questions or feedback on the program, please contact me at the South Portland Parks & Recreation Department @ 767-7650 or sbest@southportland.org.  I hope you and your community help us in growing and implementing the great sport of basketball into Maine’s Youth.

Sincerely,

Sabrina Best
